So im in talks with my shop to do as the title says. Were working on turbo charging my clk. now for the help. Will a 2003 plus E55 transmission fit on my car? And if so, I need one. Please leave comments, and has anyone ever do this or tried.

i doubt it would fit. But why would you want that tranny? longer gears?
Keep us posted on the turbo setup. And tell us everything you do. Are you custom fabbing a mani and all the piping yea?

I talked to VIPCLK320 and he had a turbo setup on his 320 and the tranny wasn't strong enough to support that kind of power (gears slipped regularly). The tranny's of higher hp cars are stronger. Basically, the more torque the engine creates, the more force and stress you have on the gears. So for good reliability with a major power increase, you want a stronger transmission

You should talk to blackbenzz he was working with a tranny specialist to get his 55 an up grade.

The E55 transmission has the exact same gear ratios as a CLK430. It's the final drive ratio (rear diff) that's lower. Since the E55 and CLK430 are both M113 blocks, the bolt pattern is the same - the AMG transmission will definitely bolt up.

haters crazy
If you want to just build your current transmission to shift faster and hold more torque contact Level Ten. If you want to go this route let me know because I will do it at the same time and maybe we can get a discount. Nice project, keep us updated!
