This just in - W204 flat hood badge pops right onto W208
I was at dealership today to get all weather floor mats, and was talking about flat hood badges and how tacky the hood ornament of the W208 is. After a little discussion, the guy at the parts department came up with the notion that the W204 (the brand new C-Class) has a flat hood badge that should fit. I paid $17 for mine, and it fit perfectly with no modifications. Just thought I would give you all the heads up!!!!

It is the flat hood badge for the brand new W204 C-Class and it fits right onto our CLK320's and CLK430's. The C-Class that came out like last month. It doesnt use the double pins like other flat hood badges used to. Look above for the parts number in my initial post. Just order that parts number, pick up, pop right onto your hood, and enjoy. No more having to order $$ custom flat hood badges here or on ebay to fit the CLK320 or CLK430, just pick it up at the dealership. I have it on my car right now. Just order the parts number above!

Hmmm is this plastic or is it medal?? I still like the look of my White Star...I do wish it had been cheaper but once again I love the damn look of it. This new one doesnt fit in the hole does it.

Enjoy the cheap plastic badge... With weekly washings the clear coat will wear off and then the blue enamel on the Laurel Wreath will fade, just as it has for years. The Metal mount badges, like mine, cost more for obvious reasons.

He said it fits perfectly with no modification. I like my black amg hood emblem, but it isn't an amg car. This is tempting...

Well nobody has thought of it and I'll throw this out there, the hood emblem our cars came with is good, if somebody fills in the gap for the star it's fine, I like the way it looks. it's been 7+ years now for the car I have, 7+ years the emblem is fine, the emblem is no where near it's faded life, the quality still shines when it's washed. This is why I still rep the star emblem on the front even though our cars are sport I just think it's fine for now, just take out the star and fill in the gap w/ something IMO, that something I don't know yet that I'll be figuring out.

I have seen these W204 sport flat badges as well. They are the same PLASTIC ones for the SLK, as DFWdude notes. The only difference is the nifty snap-in mount. The badge attaches to the mount using the same plastic pins as before, but without the delrin grommets. So there's nothing new here that you can see on top of the hood.

They are plastic. Who cares. They are good enough for Mercedes they are good enough for me. I have yet to see an older SLK with a washed out and faded badge. Plastic is lighter than metal - saves weight! Its not like wheels where you need the strength of metal. I would rather have it in plastic if for nothing else,, then to save a little weight.

Does this badge follow the curves of the hood?
Reason I ask is, I have an SLK badge, but the badge is flat whereas the hood slopes down, so there is a small fingernail gap at the front of the badge.

Well if the badge doesn't follow the curves (haven't bought one yet), nobody will look at it or notice the small imperfection except for you as the owner IMO so your good.

Personally i like the standard ornament. I will leave mine standard i think I mean i am not going to take the prancing horse of my Fezzs front grill because it already has a nose badge Na its staying put just like on me Merc
