CLK and a passionate following

You know what, i never realised that the CLK had such a following. This is my first owned Merc and i have been reading the archives on this new to me forum and i must say how surprised at the enthusiasm and following of the CLK. I also have Italian cars (summer use), and it seems that the CLK brigade has a following just as passionate as the Italian metal.
I never realised that there was such a choice of wheels and body styling kits available, as well as interior styling. I am in the UK and you really dont see much in the way of CLK personal expression. But its good to see the variety of personal expression from say the US.
Well done lads, keep up the good work

i guess you can say that, the clk has an effect like no other. It evolves to something completely different after some mods. and it is very rewarding.

I completely understand what you mean!! I completely fell in love with my ride again as soon as I started modding it. I was actually starting to get tired if it, but the gear brought it up a few years SO modding is KEY I think!!

I don't really notice it. I used to own a WRX here in the US, and that had a huge following. Other WRX flashing lights to say hi or giving thumbs up. The other CLK owners I see around day to day seem like zombies to me.

LMAO ok I thought I was the only one!!! I have said Whats up to a couple and they acted like they didnt even want to look my way at all. I enjoy my ride with window down cruising and other MB's around go all locked up w/AC on...and its nice as hell out right now.

Hell I have had a couple Mustangs give me the NICE RIDE and thumbs up but NOT ONE MB owner AT ALL. BUT I still like the ride alot and am not ready to give up on other MB owners just yet LMAO.

Nice to hear this from the other side of the world. You're lucky you have Inden design ( http://www.indendesign.de/html/bilder_66er.php?art=top ) close by to you, They have some of the nicest BBS LM's with their own flare to them I have ever seen. It's hard to connect with them over there to get these special wheels they are making. Any BBS vendor out here in the USA won't do this kind of amazing extreme offsets for you.

I rarely have MB owners who give me a thumbs up or say nice ride.

When I still owned my bmw 740iL, I used to get a lot of thumbs up or 'nice ride' from fellow bmw enthusiasts and I ocassionaly also gave a thumbs up to bmw drivers.

This doesn't happen as much with MB. But just last week after school, I stopped by a store with a few friends and I left something in my car, so I went outside and a black E class (W210) drives by and lets me cross the street and as I get to my car he said, "Nice Car!"

It's all in the place we live guys, don't blame it on the car now.

Out here in the West Side of Souther Cali, there is alot of Active Benz drivers (and a forum ) that Benz owners appreciate and give thumbs up, some Bimmer owners may flip you off out here tho...so it just depends, soon I will get the W208 movement going out here...don't you guys worry.

I still have my WRX, my daily driver. I used to be active with the WRX scene and yes alot of followers up to now and it is still like that. But since I've put more time in the CLK the WRX scene to me has faded. lol. Don't get me wrong, I still love the AWD turbo. But now I hardly do the peace sign whenever i see other scoobies on the road. There are just too many of them now, not like when I first got my scooby back in '03.
