CLK32 is it possible???
I was wondering if CLK320 have the same engine as the C32 & SLK32? if they do could it be possible to take a C32 or SLK32's supercharger and put it in a CLK320?
Thanks

The engines are the same size, however not internally. For the money, you would be much better off with a Kleemann Supercharger. The cost to fabricate and test all the necessary parts to make the inferior AMG SC work on the 320 wouldn't be worth it.

CLK 320
I posed this question to Renntech a long time ago. The response was that Renntech could do the conversion. It would cost approx $24,000. The supercharger is not just bolted on to a standard 320 engine. It has different compression (among other things) which would require different pistons (not exactly engine inclinded help?). I have a feeling that Renntech's low boost supercharger kit is almost the same as the 32 engine? It might be cheaper for them to just fit a 32 engine in a CLK. Also, why use the AMG supercharger when Kleeman will give you 330hp!

In a recent issue of Car & Driver, they featured a RENNtech SLK38K, which was an SLK320 that was modified by increasing the displacement to 3.8L and adding the AMG supercharger, computer, etc. The engine put out about 440hp, but the car also had wheels, suspension, brakes, body kit, and transmission mods. The cost of the car was about $112,000, which means the mods cost at least $60K. Probably close to $40K on the engine.
Unfortunately, the bad thing was that the car was still not quicker than a stock SLK32 AMG. It probably would have been cheaper to just throw in all of the SLK32 components (engine, transmission, differential, brakes, etc.)
If you're serious about it, you really should consider the Kleemann kit instead.

RENNtech's response was that the test-driver from Car & Driver had too much wheelspin on launch, although you'd think they would have done a few runs.

The AMG SC on the C32 gives more power than the Kleemann C320 (which btw posts an average gain, we've seen higer) because the motor is built specifically for the SC, and runs higher boost. At the same boost, the Kleemann would easily make more power than AMG. Kleemann has been supercharging Mercedes for about a decade longer than AMG, and is in many cases a role model to them.

if the kleeman kompressors run at the same boost as the AMG's they would indeed put out more power, but at the same time they will need extensive mods to the engine as well. The result might cost even more than a C32, as kleeman's kompressors are not cheap at all.
