MKB Hypertune 55 versus Brabus B10
Anybody have any experience with either of these kits? I got pricing on the B10, but does anyone know how much the MKB kit is? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

would you mind sharing the price of the B10 kit? does that include everything the MKB kit does? Sleestack has the MKB kit, he can tell you how much it runs, but i know it is very $$$.

He had the MKB kit, added a Kleemann SC, and now the rest is a secret.
I'm sure he'll chime in soon, but I think he'll agree that you end up spending the same amount of money that you would to purchase a Kleemann SC, which gains much more than the 40-50hp of those two kits. I'll email him this post.

For the B10 kit, it's $2995.00 for the parts and $750.00 for installation (that's the retail price...i'm not sure if you can negotiate lower)...it doesn't offer as much as the MBK kit, but then again I think the MBK kit costs way more. Does anyone know if MBK sell pieces of the kit..for example, just the camshaft mod?

That's the right price for the B10 kit. I've asked Andreas from Brabus NA about it. Pretty inexpensive, but it's all relative. Its claimed HP gain is about 30hp or so "only." But that's still a $100/HP price, which is sort of average.

The B10 kit comes with Brabus sport camshafts incl. special valve springs with "special characteristic" whatever that means....and a back pressure reducing metal catalyst system (4 monoliths with full OBD II capability)

nope..that's the right price. i think you might be confusing the B10 kit with the complete engine tunning package.

I'm here. Sorry guys.. I only check posts a few times a week because checking the board just makes me want my car back really badly. Yes I had the entire MKB 55 Hypertune Kit (and differential package) installed prior to installing the Kleemann SC. The kit primariliy consisted of cams, headers, cats. The kit bumped the stock 430 hp from 275 to about 335 and worked great with the Kleeman SC. The cams really helped keep the engine's power band open longer... The kit alone, however, cost about $14K. In my opinion, for about the same price the Kleemann SC system is a far better choice. Both products are built with the greatest quality, however the gains you get with the Kleemann system are far superior. That is not to say that I don't endorse MKB products. Their products really deliver what they promise, however, for the money you aren't getting much in terms of pure hp and torque. Their differential software works great ... my 3.07 MKB differential will be available upon completion of the current round of tuning. The MKB kit is a nice choice for those who want to stay with a NA engine... for those who want MB to stand for Mercedes Beast, give the guys at Evosport a call and start saving your money for that Kleemann SC.
As for Brabus... the only thing I ever bought from them was wheels... in the end I got rid of them because they looked great but might as well have been made of lead.

A BRABUS complete engine consists of enlarged displacement...for the V8's...there are these two options:
BRABUS enlarged displacement 5.8 V8*
base CLK 430, 400 hp, 427 lb-ft torque at 3,300 - 4,700 rpm
BRABUS enlarged displacement 6.1 V8*
base CLK 430, 427 hp, 460 lb-ft torque at 4,100 rpm

I can assure you that $3000 isn't getting you any additional displacement... I spoke to Brabus a few years back about their complete tuning pakcages and they were slightly cheaper (but not much) than Renntech... if you ask me, their numbers aren't that impressive... but hey some people want to stick with a NA engine.
