Hey, i am looking to get a carbon hiber hood for my car. where do i get one. also is there a real wieght difference between a stook hood and a carbon fiber one. guys and gals need your help on this one.
There is a weight difference, cant remember exactly how much. There will be a small gap when looking at the car from the side between the grill and the car. Also you have to take the hood shocks off the car to make it flush with the fenders. You can just disconnect one and reattach when opening the hood. This is exactly why I dont have one on my 55. I tried several times to get a group buy going to have nice custom ones made but there wasnt much interest
What are we looking at price wise for the custom hood? Also, what happens with rain? I was planning to have heat extractor vents put in ala brabus type. BB what do you think?

I dont even remember the pricing breakdown anymore. I think it was ~ $1200 if we got at least 5 people. Yea, I wanted to have vents in them too for cooling purposes. There are alot of cars that run vented hoods and have had no problem in the rain. I'm sure we could also have some kind of plug in piece made to cover the holes in inclement weather anyway. I dont think the guys I set up a group buy with would even take me seriosuly anymore. Honestly, I dont even remember who it was Maybe if we could get enough people we could convince someone to make them for the W208 with real c/f, not the flimsy showy ones available currently and with good fitment. If we could convince a company like Vorsteiner that there is a market they would make them but be ready to spend 1500-2k for those.
