Voltage for Low beams?

Hey

does anyone know the voltage for low beams?????

I got a bulb from pep boys and its 12v and this repair guy said the voltage could be off and when it's not the right voltage that it could mess up the electrical side of my car.

Does it matter?

And also where do you guys buy your OEM bulbs?

These cars has 12-volt systems. The headlights are 12-volts. The big question is, do you have $15 per bulb standard headlights, or Xenons, where the bulbs (Philips) are as cheap as $70 per pair at some places, or $100 EACH at the dealer.

I use Xenons. Xenons use a 12-volt, 35-watt, Philips D2R bulb. Non-Xenons (standard lights) use an H7 bulb. That's a 12-volt, 55-watt bulb, and a number of manufacturers make them. It sounds like you use H7's

Yea they are h7's

Thanks for the help

Also where do you get your xenon's from?
And why is 35 watts and not 55 watts?

And one more question my check engine light came on saying engine electronics

I am goin to get a free diagnostic check from this repair place cuz the guy I just got my CPS module from wants to charge me an additional $90 for a diagnostic check.

So I was wondering if I got the code and found out what the code stood for and bought the parts at a cheap price do you think Mercedes or any high-end repair shop would repair it with the parts?
