Temperature Gauge???

On the temperature gauge, my ML320 doesn't move from the 80... no matter what conditions.
BUT... my clk has a tendency to fluctuate up to the next bar especially in bumper to bumper traffic. I had it tested at MB and they said no problems-normal.
Does anyone else experience this fluctuation? Anything I can do to make my baby run cooler?

My CLK-430 runs between 80 and 100, as soon as the needle gets closer to 100 the electric fan kicks in and it drops to 80. If yours stays up, you might wan't to check your electric fan. If the fan is good, check your gauge sensor.

mine hangs around 85-90... during heavy traffic conditions in the summer, it hits around close to a 100, but it doesn't stay there long.

CLK 430 - Magma RED, 1999

mine does the same, moves close to 100 in traffic or even if idling for several minutes... but drops to 80 almost as soon as I hit a highway, almost as if she knows its time to open the throttle!

Is ther a lower temperature thermalstate for a CLK430? I put a 65 deg. in my Corvette, originally it's 105. If there is a lower temp. thermal. where can we get it? Anyone?

Yeah I would pick up a lower thermostat for my 430 as well... that engine puts off alot of heat. My engine is like everyone else it stays between 75-100 (75 right now with 20 degree weather in the mornings). It has never gone over 100 though even sitting in traffic.
I had a 911 air cooled variety once and in traffic it was horrible, it almost hit the red on the temp guage just before we started rolling again. After I started rolling again it cooled off immediately.

2001 CLK
Its winter time here in Boston and snow on the ground. Mine showed 79 F today all day long. The thing has been displaying strange characters for a while now. I could care less about it, I'm not driving all the way to the dealership to have it looked it. I'll have them look when I get my B service done.
