Parked beside an S-type today and noticed......
Pretty similar design. Other than that...... don't look a damn thing like it

Couple more things:
-Upright hood emblem
-Raised hood lines that meet edges of grills and also main headlights
and also funny ..i saw an s type with black projector headlights ..musta been aftermarket jus like the CLKs are gettin
The plastic interiors in the Mercedes actually surpass the quality of the plastic in the Jag, even though many have complained about the squeaks and creaks of the Mercedes plastics. I know everybody here has gotten in their car and heard their seat plastic rub against the leather and creak - or the center console creaking when weight is applied to it in some way. Still...... the Jag plastic LOOKS nicer, but is much more brittle and hard in comparison.
Driving wise, no comparison. Road noise is worse on the Jag, and you thought the CLK had noise... it has a nice heavy and solid feel though, as does the CLK.... but the CLK feels lighter overall - which is good.
Drivelines are not near as dependable as the Mercedes - and that's bad considering the woes the CLK and ML have suffered in consumer reports. (I've not had any major issues myself with my CLK).
I'd buy a Jag as a second car if I weren't going to make it a DD and put a lot of miles on it. It would be acceptable for that without too many issues. It IS pretty to look at, after all. IMO it is the sexiest Ford short of an Aston.
