Faint electric burning smell on start-up
Lately for the last few weeks, whenever I get into my 2000 CLK430 for the first time and start it up, I notice/smell a faint electric burning smell that lasts a few seconds then goes away. I can't imagine this is a normal occurrence. Also, I have the shaking at idle problem that many people complain about. Yes, I already replaced my MAF, plugs/wires, and fuel filter, alternator & battery so they're not the culprits.
I have about 90k on it right now. Thanks in advance!

Do you just smell it the cab? It could be one of the dome light burning the clear lenses? After a few mins. the light goes out. I have seen this before on other cars. Just my two cents.

i do only smell it inside the cab... but i just feel like it's coming in through the vents near the steering wheel/instrument cluster... it probably isn't a big deal, but I do notice it every morning on cold-starts. weird.
