I've also posted this topic in the 'Tech Talk' forum, as it might be more relevant there??

I have a '99 model W208 CLK 200, and the driver's door bracket is broken (The one which stops the door opening further than it's supposed to). The metal has literally broken off, with bits floating around inside the door panel.

Is this a common problem on these cars, and is it a DIY fix, or one for the garage?

Any help/advice gratefully received.

Search both forums.....I recall this broken part being referred as a "door strap" ???

Thanks for this - I knew there must be a more descriptive name for the part in question. I just couldn't think of it!!!
I'll do a search on this now.
