Window operation using soft top button

I have a 2002 CLK 430 Cab and the manual says on page 148 that the windows can be raised or lowered all at once using the soft top switch if the top is up and locked.

I've tried it and my car doesn't do it.

Also, when I program the homelink remote, it works but the light doesn't blink.

What am i missing?

Bill

With the soft top latch locked, you need to lift twice and hold the red convert. top button in order for the windows to roll down. Reverse process pushing down to raise the windows....

Do all your windows automatically go down when you unlatch the top?
Are you hearing the "bong" when the top goes up before you latch it?
I had the car in D once, put the top up & the windows didnt go up...i think i had opened the door too. Restarted the car & it worked.

Hes had 3 convertible owners tell him how to do it. Maybe a benz just isn't for him....

Maybe a Benz isn't for me, but that isn't really a very helpful answer. I can read a manual and I can follow the same instructions from this forum. I was hoping for more because pushing twice doesn't work. something must be broken but I don't know what it is since the top works fine. If no one's got any ideas, then fine, it was worth asking.

BTW I've had 3 mercedes, 5 Porsches, and 2 BMW's I doubt that has anything to do with my ability to push a button.

Keep in mind hot shot I was the first one to respond to your origional post and yes it was very helpful but obviously you already knew how to push the button. Also note that I replied with some switches/sensors to check relating to common inoperability with convertible tops.....Next time I won't reply to your post.
