Where are you buying the parts? Do you have any codes? Did you spill any liquids into the shifter? Replacing any part that solves an issue temporarily 4 times in a month is excessive. I bought my brake light switch from auto zone for $14 over a year ago and have not had any additional issues. BTW this thread saved the day!!

My ABS BAS ASR Lights wont go off
I have tried 3 mechanics and they have all hooked up their computers and to no avail. No one can give me an answer why these lights are coming on and why they wont go off. I have tried to unhook the battery and that didn't help. The brakes seem to work fine and the car is running normal. What is my problem?

I have similar problem (Stuck in P) and suspect it could have been spill on central console.
This is for E320 W210 year 2000.
I am looking at replacing the batteriy that is old, and replacing brake pedal sensor,
but reading your comment, I wnder if you can suggest another better solution ?
Thank you for you help

What if replacing stop lamp doesn’t fix the issue?
BAS ESP ABS can not move out of Park If you got BAS ESP and ABS warning light and can not shift out of Park position. Do this: Press on the brake and have someone check the brake light, if not, the Stoplight switch is bad, remove cover above the brake pedal, press on brake and tap on the switch and see if the cylinder release or not, this will let you move out of Park.
If the Brake or Stoplight switch is bad, the computer won't allow you to shift out of Park because it think you are not press on the brake.
This part is around $20 and 30 minutes to replace.

My 2000 CLK430 use to do this, but only when it was wet out and I would travel in reverse. I would turn the car off, restart and do the full sweep L to R 3 or 4 times. Turn the car off and re-start. All the warning lights would be gone.
