Auto Dip of Door Mirrors in reverse

Hi!

I'm a newbie here after today purchasing my first CLK. Its a 430 coupe and I am officially in love! As you do, I am testing everything out and all is well, however I noticed something I would like to get clarification on....

When putting the car into reverse the passesnger door mirror dips, although rather than one simple fluid movement, it kind of continues to move around slightly until finally settling. When putting back into drive, it does seem to take its time moving back and does not always settle in the original position. Is this something I can sort myself?

Also, should the driver mirror dip?

Cheers!

Thats the way its set I believe. Its mostly used for parking, and if you park like I do you'll be going reverse and forward like 3-4 times. and that may damage that mirror. So relax By the time you come out of reverse and into drive when you need that mirror it will be set. Or you can just leave mirror adjustment set to the driver side.

Mine used to do this too, after adjusting from the controls to mirror in reverse seemed to go away.
If you keep the toggle to driver side niether mirror will dip. For some reason that part took me a while to figure that out

The mirror goes back to its original position after the speed of the car exceeds 15mph no matter which direction your go – forward or in reverse. Also it always moves vertically first and then horizontally. For the option to function the mirror button should be depressed. If you want to put it in the original position or disable the option, just press button for the driver’s side mirror. The manual explains how to adjust position of that mirror when car is in reverse.
