A tune up means a lot of things to lot of people. What do you mean tune up? An A service? B service? 2 year service? 3 year service? 4 year/40K service? 4 year/50K service? 5 year/100K mile service? Some combination?
If the plugs are 5 years old or have 100K miles on them, change them. If you ruin the wires because you didn't use a plug boot puller, change the wires too. These are some MB USA recommendations - If the brake fluid is 2 years old, change it. If the coolant is 3 years old, change it. If the engine air filters are 4 years or 60K miles old, change them. If the fuel filter is 4 years or 60K miles old, change it. Every 4 years or 50K miles, check your flex discs and re-torque your steering gear bolts. The FSS will tell you when to change to oil and filter.
In addition, these are my recommendations - ONLY use a fleece oil filter. Change the drive belt every 5 years or 100K miles. Change the coolant every two years rather than three. Change the battery every four years.

So, I came to a conclusion that maybe if I just did a tune up that would justify some things. I did a lot of searches on the forum and tried to come up with some ideas from everyone on a tune up. Then I contacted a few websites like the one above and received their recommendation. My main goal is just to get the car running good. It’s paid off and the car has grown on me tremendously. I plan on keeping the car as a weekend car for quite some time. Any advice would help. Thanks.
Here is some background information.
September 06, 1999- Replaced 02 sensor.
June 02, 2002- Service “B” was completed.
June 19, 2007- Replaced crank sensor
Replaced air mass meter
February 6, 2008- Replaced 02 sensor
April 21, 2008- Installed new brakes, pads, sensors, etc.
Alignment
There were many other things I replaced but I don think it would matter because it’s not mechanical. All work above was completed by a MB dealership.
