Is there a way to get the serial number without pulling the Comand unit out? Is there some type of management interface I can get into that will get me the serial number?

In AM/FM mode, hold down MUTE, 1, and 3 all together for about 10 seconds. This will get you into the special diagnostic menu. I think you can mess up your COMAND in there so be careful.

So if any one needs to do this, the above directions work. Then you will have to drill down into Version -> FIS -> Serial

Thanks for the quick response. Now all I need is the radio code. I have the serial number of 06006610 . Can anyone pull the radio code?

Radio codes aren't needed for the comand units.

I did not want to get stuck without a radio code. Now I know you can remove your battery without your Comand Unit asking for a security code.
