2001 CLK200
comparative questions

Hello everyone, a few tough questions, hope you guys can help. My car is a 2001 CLK200 kompressor. But I need to get parts out of the states, which did not have this model, so I am doing some comparisons to see which models are compatible.

First off, are the two serpentine belts on the kompressor engines for the SLK230 and CLK200 the same or do they have different belt specific to the 2.3L as opposed to the 2.0L?

Secondly, I know the kompressor engines use the same oil filter regardless of size and what model ther are in whether 2001 SLK or CLK. But the fuel filter for the CLK200 kompressor is the same as the CLK320 which is a V6. My question which FUEL PUMP is fitted to the CLK200 kompressor, the one in the SLK230 or the one from the CLK320??? Or is it neither???

Finally, the tranny fluid, how do I drain this or have it "mechanically flushed" and how much as well as what specific type do I need to use?

Any help is appreciated, very few folks know about these cars here and those who do (stealers) really rip u off.

2002 CLK430
For the accessory belt, the CLK200 uses either a 0119970192, 0119970292, 0119973792, or a 0119973692, depending on whether it has AC, and/or self leveling. I believe all US spec SLK230's have AC, so they all use a 0119970292. If I'm wrong, then the 0119970192 is the SLK230 non-AC belt. They both use the same supercharger belt - 0119975892.

The fuel pump on an W208 CLK200 is 0004706394, the same as a CLK320.

My dealer doesn't charge much to do the transmission service, so they've done my the fluid change twice in the time that I've owned the car. The fluid is changed by dropping the pan. If your torque converter has a drain plug, use that too. You'll need a pan gasket, filter, fluid (part number 0001989210310), a dip stick (US spec cars don't come wit a dip stick) and a way of determining fluid temperature.

When a US dealer adds transmission fluid to a car with a 722.6* transmission, they hook the car to a STAR diagnostic machine. The STAR box tells them the fluid temperature. When the transmission fluid is at 25 degrees Celsius, the fluid level should be between the Min and Max settings that are at the end of the dipstick tool. When the fluid 80 degrees Celsius, the fluid level should be between the Min and Max settings that are further up the dipstick. If someone were to add fluid and didn't check the temperature, it could cause problems.

My WIS states that if too much or too little oil is in the transmission, malfunctions and damage will occur.

2001 CLK200
The car has A/C but no self leveling soI guess 0119970292 is the way to go for that belt? Anyone else can clear this up for sure???

And what should be the average price for that CLK320 fuel pump???

I guess the ste... uhh dealer will have to do the tranny, dat is just waaay too much headache for me.

Thanks for the info Marcus
