Arrow tight steering?

When im going around a corner sometimes, or even making a u-turn my steering gets VERY tight and i almost cant even steer. It has scared me a few times going around some corners because i wasnt expecting it and the steering wheel wont go past a certain point. Has anyone had this problem? Could it be the steering pump? any help is greatly appreciated.

Yes, if you loose pressure you will not have steering assist and at lower speeds it may be very hard to turn the wheels. How is your PS fluid level.
