Car is slow! Vacuum leak?

Car is runnung very slow! Power loss big time and check engine light

is it a vacuum leak? or can it be something else?

car revs slow when in full throttle and then takes off after like 5k rpms and is fine afterwards???

Your P0170 and P0173 means the fuel trim is malfunctioning on both banks. I have no idea want P20-anything means.


This is how to read those codes -
  • The first digit is B for body, C for chassis, P for powertrain, or U for network.
  • The second digit is 0 for SAE or 1 for manufacturer. I have no idea what a “2” is.
  • The third digit can be 1 through 8. 1 is for fuel and air metering. I don’t know what a zero in this field means.
I hate just chucking parts at a car, but I think your mass air flow sensor is bad.

can all this be acting up because of a vacuum leak? cause i can hear one for sure! im gonna take my car in tomorow and see what they say and ill let you know what the p20 codes are, and thanks for the info

it was the MAF sensor and the seals on it, is it hard to change myself? or should i pay the shop 550 to do it?

Please do it yourself....there are instructions in the DIY thread. Takes about 30 minutes....just be sure to insert the rear of the airfilter into the new maf before snapping down the front.
