Downshift jerking

I searched the website as I thought I had read something about this but here goes. 2001 Clk320 w/117k trans fluid replaced @ 100k did as a preventive maintenance. This happens when the car is stone cold and its real cold out I would say about 25-35 degrees, as I slow down to stop I feel a jerk coming thru the car, I think the car must be downshifting to either 1st or 2nd leaning more on the 2nd as the car is still moving. As the car warm up the jerk tend to disapper until it reaches normal operating temp. When the temp is 40's and up it doesn't do it at all. I also want to add that this is not all the time, meaning sometime it would be very cold out and no jerk. Needles to say I'm puzzled is this something I need to be concerned about?

Any feedback appreciated!

I've had that issue since we bought the car used at 120K miles. I've learned to come to a quick complete stop once the transmission reaches 2nd gear. Not coming to a complete stop would result in a rough jerk once I would start to accelerate. This problem was also noticeable on my cousin's ML350 newer when the transmission is warmed up.

I found the problem when I put the car in "W" mode, it would not jerk.

sounds like you may have problem with one of the synchros *sp in your transmission. I'd see the dealer and mention something like that. Maybe there is also a transmission software update for your car available do you get it maintenance at the dealership or elsewhere?
