Steering Wheel Shake

No, its not a new dance!!! Its what you feel in your hands at and around 60 mph. I've replaced the Wheel Bearings, Lower Ball Joints, had a wheel fixed, new tires, rotated, balanced and road forced everything I could and....

ITS STILL THERE!!!!!!!

I have some questions for those with this problem:

What can anyone tell me about replacing the Upper Ball Joints and the Lower Control Arm Bushings?

Anyone had this done?

Does anyone make aftermarket bushings for the W208 chassis?

Anything that I'm not asking but should??

Thanks for your time...

I bought these poly LCA bushings for my W208 $94.98 shipped on eBay! I had a shimmy between 40-70 but varied based on the road surface. Last year I replaced my tie rod assembly (drag link) and steering damper which helped reduce the sloppy feeling in the steering, but the shimmy was still there. Last weekend I did the drivers side lower ball joint and LCA bushing. The old ball joint was sloppy and the LCA bushing rubber was cracked. I will finish the passenger side this weekend. I should have a full writeup of how to replace the LCA bushings & ball joints in the next few weeks. The job is not for the faint of heart, but neither is shelling out 4 figures to the dealership. Hopefully all this work will make the shimmy a thing of the past.

Thanks Marcus, I forgot to add that on the list of things that had been replaced.

Ghostrider let me know if you are changing them yourself. I may be able to help you out. I ended up making a tool to remove the bushings. I would never have been able to do the job without it.

I do appreciate the other, but the last time I worked on my car I had to have it towed to the dealer....
