Spring question and an observation
Ok the first and most important: Does anyone have any experience with lowering springs? I'm looking to firm up the ride of my 01 CLK430a with some Brabus springs. What I don't want id a jouncy Civic ride that I will regret. All I want is a bit firmer (sort of Audi A4 Sport like) but not dropped slammed drug dealer look.
Are Brabus a good way to go (I take out clients once in awhile, or at least people who want a free lunch) or am I better off looking at H+R and others? Lorinser?
Please help I really need to stop the CLK 'wallow' at 85 mph on the 405 and 5 freeways. :-(
Ok on a different subject, I was in LA today on the 405 headed towards CSC in ElSegundo when I look over and see a friggin Black CLK320 with stock (multi hole) 16 inch wheels, pretty clean, sporting CLK55 and the big scary 'AMG////' badging on the trunk lid. I was in a rental car so I could not really eye the guy and make it obvious as to my dismay.....
I usually don't give a rats *** about peoples personal taste when it comes to either debadging or re-badging their cars...but OMG could this guy be serious or do you think he is just a really funny guy that owns a fleet of Modena's and 55's and was just bored and wanted to freak out a fellow car geek?
I'm still shaken by this image and am still surprised CHP did not pull him over to investigate further.... :-) Weird out here in CA, just when you think you have seen it all...a 320 CLK55 AMG shows up. Maybe it was bored and stroked to 5.5L of V6 muscle ?
OK I really need help with the spring situation so any advice would be welcome. Thanks for the help...........
