2000 430 CLK Transmission Problems
Today, while driving slowly, my 2000 CLK felt as if it slipped into neutral... I attempted to put it in reverse, then back into drive, still behaved as if in neutral... I pushed it out of traffic, and shut it off... I restarted it after 1 minute, and drove it home with no probs....
What is up with that? There were no lights on the dash or warnings.... the only other strange symptom lately was passenger seat was moving in the wrong direction when adjusted (went to move it back, it went forward, etc)
Car is not under any warranty, so I would LOVE any input on this... the gremlins under the hood are going to make me crazy...
Thanks, Jim

No idea on the Trans issue but like Marcus said.. read the codes. Ill bet the seat issue is simply the motor starting to go. Easier to replace that one while you can still move the seat for access. Motor runs about 80 bucks on line.

We need more info on the car - mileage ,service history etc.Chances are if the tranny hasn't been "serviced" (filter and fluid change), than its probably overdue.Do not allowed anyone to tell you the tranny & the lifetime fill story.
