CLK 55 engine vs.2300cc turbo
own a non-supercharged CLK 200 cabriolet, 136 hp. 1999 model.
have two options:
A- importing a CLK 55 AMG engine, keys, tranny, ECU, immobilizer, wiring harness from USA.
B- dismantle engine. Get a 2.3L crankshaft, 2.3L forged rod and pistons.
2.3L cylinder head. Port and polish.
I am able to fabricate my own turbo kit, a 300 hp turbo system.
Can map the ecu as well.
What would you do?

I would go the turbo route. If you're willing/able to do it right, custom always gets more bragging rights. Plus, the blowoff "pssssshhhhh" from a Benz at a stoplight turns serious heads.
My car is supercharged with a custom Vortech setup that uses a Greddy blowoff valve as a compressor bypass and it makes a similar sound to a turbo. The Evo and Subie guys go nuts when they hear it.
