CLK 200 Kompressor (W208.345)
Question W208 How to improve speed performance?

Hi all,
I have a 2000' w208 200 Kompressor Avantgarde. 141 kW / 192 PS. I want to tune it up and make it a little faster but not changing the fuel consumption (as i am a student and can't afford too much fuel cons.). Please help oin this one, because i believe there's a way, but i don't know what it is!!!
Here are some pics of my clk:

u can change the cold air intake..
another way is to RESET YOUR ECU(AS EREASING THE OLD MEMORY) AND WILL MAKE BIG DIFF.
1) PUT YOUR KEY IN.
2) TURN IT RIGHT TO THE FIRST CLICK
3) PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL FOR 5 SECONDS ALL THE WAY IN.
4) TURN THE KEY BACK TO THE LEFT AND KEEP IT IN AND DO NOT REMOVE THE KEY
5) WAIT 3 MNS B4 U DRIVE IT

I love this trick!!! It always bring my car back to life after driving it back and forth to work.

As far as the cold air intake goes...we already have a cold air intake built with the car. The front tubes pull in air from the outside and if you just buy one of those cheap cold air intake all you will be doing is pulling hot air from the inside of the engine bay (not good).

If you want to improve the intake then you should buy the air intake system that the 5.5's use. We actually did a comparison and the 5.5 intake definitely improved the HP and was proven on my car on a dyno.

Hey Greg, as far as the cold air intake....I dunno what the word for it in english, but u know where u have the horns in front behind the grill, and at the left side, there is a lil plastic tunnel that direct the cold air to go in the engine, i just removed it and OMG , what a big difference.. Trust me on it

I, too, have the 200K. I'm gonna try the ECU reset thing. I haven't modded anything on her (she was my wife's car, now mine). I don't plan to change the air intake for fear that it may affect the turbo--any thoughts on that?
