2005 CLK55 COUPE
Rotor Resurface
Hi all,
I was hoping for some sound information on resurfacing my brake rotors both front and back for a CLK55. I have always done my own brake job where I take my rotors in and they usually charge like $5.00 - $10.00 to resurface each rotor depending on where I go. Someone was telling me that it costs way more to resurface Mercedes rotors which makes no sense to me. Has anyone taken in their rotors for resurfacing and if so how much does it usually cost?
Thanks

The rotors on a Mercedes-Benz are never turned. Mine are good for 2 brake jobs, then they're out of spec and have to be replaced. Just mic them. On a CLK55, if they're 31mm or beter, just change pads.

Physically, any rotor can be turned. Some rotors (all OE Porsche and Mercedes-Benz) don't warp and OE pads don't cause glazing during normal (or abnormal) use, so turning them just accelerates disc wear.
