Interia movement sensor

You know at times my car alarm goes of in the night. Usually when i go out to it i know what to look fo. Its usually a little fly or money spider near the int era movement sensors.
Can these sensors be turned down at all, to make them less sensitive?
Thanks to anyone who answers my question.

So judging by all the enthusiastic and helpful responses, its not possible to adjust the sensitivity.
