What a 6.2 liter V-8 looks like 5 weeks from completion.
You are making alot of assumptions about something you don't know about. I'm the customer and I'm very happy with the progress on my car. I don't think you quite comprehend the magnitude of the work being done. Then again, you've been whining like a biatch about your Kleemann SC even after you got a complete replacement, so perhaps you expect much more than I do.
if it hasn't already....
Off topic, so you've never had a problem with your MKB headers? No cracks or anything?
I consider myself pretty patient. I waited almost 4 months for my first round of tuning with Oberklasse. When this project began, the guys at Evosport let me know that the engine would have to be blueprinted and many of the engine parts would have to be outsourced. Therefore, timing was hard to pin down. They estimated anywhere from 8 to 12 months for a completed car. The car has been in their hands for 8 months now and given that the pistons are now complete, the engine should be done in about 4 weeks. As far as I'm concerned, they are on pace. More importantly, I was fully informed about the timing prior to sending them my car and they have given me constant updates throughout the process. You can be a skeptic if you like, however, I'm not sure what you think you know that I don't. Time will tell.... no not really, the dyno will tell.

Keep it up! Tell them what is up! I love having you respond to these rather then us having to!
Hank seems desperate to attack evosport and kleemann at every step. Forget the fact that we - EVOSPORT - paid for his rental car when he had a Kleemann problem. We did not charge him for a lot of labor. We went out of our way to take care of him! Proves that no good deed goes unpunished!
Thanks

Sleestack, thanks for acknowledging that the MKB headers had a minor flaw, and it's good that evosport caught the problem early.
As for lag. Vadim called me and told me the engine block was in. He let me know that he was waiting for the pistons and that once the pistons were in it would take about 5 weeks. I, in a bout of wishful thinking, posted that the engine would be complete in about 5 weeks, however, the pistons actually just recently arrived so the 5 weeks just started running. I knew going into this project that timing of the various stages of completion would always be a moving target. In fact, I've explicitly told Vadim, Brad and Simon to take their time. The only thing I've told them is to make sure the car turns out to be a beast.
I've got no beef with you Hank, however, from one customer to another, you really do expect to much. As far as I can tell, Evosport and Kleemann both went out of their way to remedy any problems you were having with your car. What more can you really ask for? Car tuning is complicated and subject to many variables. It may be the truth that you experienced some delays, however, if you are going to continue to be a car tuning enthusiast, you better get used to it.

Nonetheless, good luck on your project venture. I hope you will let us know updated info, whether good or bad.

Are you going to loose star diagnostic capability?
What kind of exhaust are you using for this engine?
What type of engine management/carbureation are you using?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
a) CL600 transmission
b) Shouldn't lose Star diag. capabilities.
c) Modified MKB headers and cats. From the cats back, a custom dual exhaust system is being created which will run through the location where the spare tire used to be.
d) A different ECU isbeing used, however, I'm not sure which model it is coming from.
Vadim, if I'm off on any of these points, please feel free to correct me.
Exactly Dronellis... car tuning, especially a project of this magnitude cannot be rushed and is subject to many variables that can affect timing. I have no doubt that it will be well worth the wait and will make W208 owners proud.
There is no such things that modification is easy as people thinks and talk...but I really enjoy it very much and from right now its just a wonderfull memory to remember it..heheh
Rides will be available for those who live in SoCal (while the car is there) and NorCal (when the car gets to my garage).
