It reduces body roll when making turns, better handling and traction.

Sway bars are used to fine tune the suspension. They do not play as important a role as springs and shocks, but can make a substantial difference in handling. As far as which brand to choose, I will make it easy for you...

Eibach seems to no longer be making them (last I checked). Most other companies uses the CLK55 diameter (or actual) bar. Of course, getting the bar isn't the simple either. As of last week, there were none in the country, and had to be ordered from Germany...

If there is enough demand, I can make adjustable sway bars for the CLK, but it would take about 20 people or so.

Right. You can't change the diameter of the sway bar, but you can change the stiffness by adjusting where the links attach to the bar.

..............I ordered REnntech sway bar for my CLK32k. They arrived 2 days ago. It took about one week to get them and the cost was $1000. I am yet to have them installed.

If we made bars, they would be approximately $549 (as our C32 bars are).

You'd have to check with eibach (who makes the AMG bars), but I don't think they have any more for the w208. I think the AMG bars are around $550. I would not spend more for the bars, unless something is uniquely different about them (i.e. diameter, stiffness, etc).

There is no evosport bar. If there is enough demand, I can have them made to our custom specs.

We can make sway bars for any car, the only issue is whether there is sufficient demand for them.

Unless you are racing on the track, I think it's a waist of money for normal daily driving. Springs, shocks and tires are more than enough.

............You may be right. But I looked into this question before I decided to go ahead and order my sway bars. The information I received was that these sway bars are difficult to find, especially after Eibach stopped making them for most MB lines. As a result, I was unable to locate even one person that has an aftermarket sway bar on their MB. Therefore knowing how much of a difference the sway bars make is known becayuse no one on this forum so far, as far as I know has done it. I decided to get the Renntech sway bars(which admittedly is expensive but they are the only company that I know right now that makes them for MB's) and see for myself. I will post results. If anyone has had an aftermarket sway bar omn their CLK, kindly post your impressions so we can be better educated.

I have the Eibach sway bars on my car and love them! In combination with my suspension, I have no body lean. I am not the only one with them either. Any CLK55 owner can easily look underneath their car on their front sway bar, and see Eibach clearly printed on it.

I actually think sway bars make a huge difference. Ted, MKB makes sway bars. I have them on my car... I wouldn't be surprised if your Renntech sway bars are actually MKB sway bars as MKB makes many of Renntech's parts.

You can do the springs alone, but your standard shocks will wear out quickly due to being constantly compressed and your ride will be a little bouncy.
