Question regarding HIDs headlights
Hey everybody, I have an aftermarket HID kit for my headlights and fogs. I have been noticing that my right headlight will turn off automatically after driving the car for a few minutes. Sometimes it stays on for the whole trip but lately it will turn off automatically. If i turn the engine off and start the car again and shift to drive the right headlight will come back on but will turn off after driving a little while. The left headlight is fine, it does not turn off, only the right side.
Is this a sign that the bulb needs to be replaced or is something else causing this? I've popped the hood and checked all the wires and nothing seems to be loose or disconnected. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ya I have error code 'lamp defective' but thats because I have removed the side marker bulbs and the bulbs for the small headlights so i only have HIDs for the two big headlamps and my fog lights. However, I don't think thats the problem because I've been driving for the past 7 months like this and the lights have always stayed on. Its only been the past few weeks where i have noticed the right headlight shutting off on its own.

maybe your ballasts are going out?
maybe switch to stock bulbs. if your bulbs stay on then its the ballasts. if they still go out, its your electrical system
