Complete Electrical Blackout! Please Please Help

I’m getting the feeling that my service tech as no idea what I am talking about so maybe I would share in hopes that someone may know the answer… This has happened two times in the past week.

DAY 1
I parked the car and got out and hit the alarm to lock the doors but nothing locks. I then open the door to find the interior light is off. I then stick the key in the ignition to try and start but it won’t turn (locked up). At this point it seems like my battery is dead… I then turn my head lights on when my key is still in the ignition and BAM everything comes back on. It was like the headlight switch told the car to wake up!

DAY 2
Parked the car and got out then hit the alarm. This time it locked but then this chirping sound near the fog light started.. It sounded like the alarm but not too loud. I tried to unlock the car with the remote but again it was a blackout. I opened the door with the metal key and tried to start but the key would not turn until I turned on the headlights which woke the car up again.

I took the battery over to AutoZone and they said it was fine. When I got back to the house I put the battery back inside the trunk and asked my girlfriend to start the car. The battery sparked a lot then the car lost all electrical power again. I started moving the battery cable that initially sparked and it started sparking again like it had crust/dirt or something around it. Then it worked again and I haven’t had a blackout in three days. Still waiting though…

Any ideas!!??

If the battery is over three years old, I'd get a new one before spending a dime on diagnostics. Plenty of batteries that test good and fail.
