Do I need to disconnect battery to swap out climate control??

disconnected mine plenty of times when installing nav and aux and just plug them back in w/o any issues.

Awesome. thanks. everytime I disconnect the battery it loses it's friggin mind and I have to reset everything. THanks!

Yeah...you don't have to disconnect it, but it doesn't hurt to be cautious.

And when you disconect the battery in the wrong order, that's when you have to reset everything. It "breaks the circuit" per se.

Any time you need to disconnect the battery, always disconnect the NEGATIVE FIRST, then positive. When you connect them back, it's POSITIVE FIRST, negative second. Do this and you'll never have to reset anything.

Thanks, thats good to know. I swapped it out with a ebay unit, and it works perfect!! Next I have to tackle the valve cover... you guys rock.

Definitely!

Stay around here long enough and you'll find that Greg, MarcusF and a few others are far better than Google when it comes to the W208...
