Just lowered-questions

I just had the H&R sport springs installed today (from my wife for my birthday!) and I have a couple of questions.

First the H&R spring kit # was "29772" but the individual springs had the part number "29749" which look alot like the 430 convertible springs according to H&R's website. Any else notice this?

Also my "factory" spring pads were 5/3, not the usual 4/3. I have it at 3/3 now. Has anyone seen a 5 in the front before?

Last, the drivers side front and back is about 1/4" lower than the passenger side. I measured from the top of the rim to the middle of the fender arch. Is this normal?

btw, the car looks great! I really didn't notice any change in the ride except for the near absence of brake dive and leaning in corners.

I'll post some pics a soon as I get it washed up!

......I noticed those #'s on the kit as well....the 29749 actually matches up to the C class springs. I was so worried that I called H&R and they confirmed that everything was OK.

I am a 4/3.....still that way. I think my back end is a little higher then my front.....thought about going with smaller pads.

maybe you are parked on a slight slope?

That part # belongs to the CLK CAB. It is NOT the correct setup for your car, and is why you have adverse ride heights and driving characteristics. Your springs are basically designed for a car with a completely different weight layout, and thus is having negative side effects. I would contact the shop who sold them to you immediately. Were they an authorized H&R dealer? The correct part # is ONLY 29772 for the CLK320/430 non-CAB.

Email me if you need any help.

Let me clarify the part numbers. The box says "kit" number 29772. The springs inside were stamped 29749 fronts and rears. The "kit" number for the Cab is "29749-H", I'm not sure what the cab springs say on them. I called Tire Rack and they were unsure so they sent me a new set (overnight at their expense) and it was exactly the same thing. I called H&R and they verified that I had the right springs and that the 29772 kit contains 29749 springs. The ride height is fine except for the 1/4" difference in side heights.

Can anyone else confirm the number stamped on their springs for the coupe or convertible?

Also anyone else a 1/4" difference in ride height from side to side? Of course I've only driven it about 20 miles since the install, but I've measured it from several parked positions.

If I am not mistaken, my Eibach spring is also can be installed in a C Class W202.
The seller told me that it would fit on a 430 and I confirmed it with Eibach.

The 202 and 208 are basically the same chassis.

In all the cars Ive had dropped the driver side is always slightly lower. Im not sure why but its just that way. your drop looks good tho. i also had a 5/3 setup on a 320 but i changed the front to a 1 and left the rear a 3. now my drop is even.
