CLK Soft Top cleaning?
Any advice on products/methods for cleaning soft top of a CLK Cabriolet would be appreciated. I have the ash-colored soft top. I tried RaggTopp's cleaner, did a mediocre job...anything available that will realy bring the life back into it and get the deep-down dirt? And what tools should be used so as not to damage the material?

Ash tops are tough to keep clean (I know you know this) The secret is not washing the top all the time with soap/shampoo and to brush/clean it with the grain not against. With the black soft tops I've owned previously I used to use a good solid water spray on them when washing the car and only shampooed them quarterly with a specific MB/Porsche top cleaner and then sealer, the sealer/protectant will keep the water beading on the top like when it was new. Good advice RJC. When washing, use only the mildest soap and a very soft brush like boar hair. Be careful not to over work isolated stains. You might wear out that area. Also, do not rub it dry. "Blot" it with a micro fiber cloth instead. Lint may not be a problem on a light color but on my dark blue top it really looks bad so I use a lint roller designed for clothing.
