New CPS, MAF, TPS and still a bog when hard acceleration.

Guys, all new three components, no CEL. I also did the throttle memory check, push pedal down to reset it, etc.

But when I punch it, it bogs down, then suddenly revs. If I drive granny style, all seems well but that's annoying. What if I have to pass someone?

I'm about to swap plugs (80k miles) and will check out the wires as well. Anything else I should look for? Read a gas pedal might be in order, any part numbers? I'm hoping the plugs will tell a story.

Thanks!

Where did you buy the parts from? Dealer / eBay / autohausAZ / etc?

TPS and MAF from import parts in Dallas. German made parts. The CPS was installed at third party German specialist. Not sure where they get there parts. I'm making an appt for monday to the same folks who replaced CPS.

I'd dump the codes to ensure the ECU doesn't have anything flagged. Then I'd do the adaptive throttle reset.

If you're not sure how to do the "adaptive throttle reset":
  1. Turn the key to position 2 (don't start the car)
  2. Floor the throttle and hold it for 30 seconds. You did read the part about not starting the car, right.
  3. With throttle on floor, switch key to off, but do not remove the key. Now you can let the throttle up
  4. Remove key after 2 minutes.
The adaptive throttle has been reset. Try it again now.

What happens if...

Just a thought... What happens if you shift it yourself?

At a stop, use the shifter and get her in first gear and make sure there are no LE types or traffic hazards around.

Keep your hand on the shifter and give her the gas... not too much at first or the traction control will kick in.

If all is well she'll wind to the redline in no time. You'll be glad your hand is on that shifter so you so can go for second gear before you hit the red line. Take her up through all the gears like that as best you can.

If you can do that a couple of times manually and she pulls hard with no hesitation, (and also from a rolling start), my guess is that the engine is likely OK.

Try it again and have her shift for herself... if there is trouble thyis way you might have some kind of tranny control or kickdown issue... That could cause her to bog down if she's in the wrong gear and will not kickdown on demand.

Sounds good on trying manual shifting. I'll give that a shot and post results here. If it is the kick down switch, is this something easily replaceable by backyard mech?

So, with no CEL, benz mech (not dealer) says it's a bad MAF. this is my second replace. I bought a German (not bosch) and he wants to replace it for $500.

He says you can't just switch it out, you have to remove all the bad codes. I have no CEL. If I buy MAF http://www.thebenzbin.com/parts/?N=1...668+4294952338 and replace, how do I clear the supposed codes? Disconnect battery 15min?

Buy from autohausaz.com. Cheaper too. Free shipping. Self install in < 30 minutes. Drive it hard again.
