sealed trannys???

clk320 325is bmw w/98 M3 motor conversion
sealed trannys???
my wife has a clk320 (99) and its acting odd at stoplights. occasionally it will feel like it disengages from drive when initially starting up from a stoplight. much like revving it slightly then slamming it into gear. it appears to be a sealed automatic tranny with no means to check or add fluid. anyone have experience or should i bend over and take it to the dealer to have it checked and topped off??

4 years or 50,000 miles - Sounds like you are VERY close.

It just happended to my car last week, according to MB there was something wrong with the tranny sensor, and it was not communicating with the ECU.
The good news is, you still CAN have your tranny fluids changed by MB if you insisted on it, I don't believe it would of lasted 100,000 miles with out a cjange anyways... And that might solve your problem, it could just be slipping a little.
The bad news is, if you do not have warranty, your bill will run up to as high as $2500 for new sensors, new ECU, and lots of other stuff...
My problem was solved by new ECU and new tranny fluid, but I actually just got the car back for 2 days, and it has not happened yet.... so time will tell....

Mine '99 CLK has just passed 70k and has no such problem with the tranny. The mechanic I know for yrs told me to change tranny oil at 80k, not 100k as suggested by dealer. He says the oil at 100k look quite dirty...
