Brake Rotors...again..
So instead of dishing out a little extra money i tried to be cheap and buy generic slotted rotors..bad idea haha..the work fine and the stopping power is great but they make an a wicked annoying noise when im driving that wasnt there with the old rotors..almost like calipers are dragging on a warped rotor so it makes a "swish-swish-swish" sound every time the rotor does a full turn..so i'm buying new ones..brembo slotted up front and oem in the rear..i dont know what website to order them off of however..anyone have any recommendations? Also, do slotted rotors generally make more noise than regular rotors?

r1 concepts is a good store for aftermarket rotors. a lot of my friends use them and love them. it sucks that for upgraded amg brakes, they have them in premium only which are about 400 for the pair.
you can also try your luck with a reputable frozen rotor company. i hear those are good too.

Whats wrong with normal vented brake rotors (OEM, Brembo, Balo, etc.)? No slotted, no dimpled, no drilled. Unless you drive on a track, or have an AMG, Im not sure what the point is of spending the extra money. Or is it just for looks?

i'm looking at the r1concepts right now..they look good, i dont know much about them, there not very expensive either..the only thing i would worry about is the specs there machined to..im pretty sure the cheap rotors i bought online weren't machined with much detail and were basically warped because at one point on the rotor it would rub against the pad and when driving it made the most annoying noise!!

waa so these aren't available for the 55. The 2 peice rotors are a pain the *** as far as choices. The frozen rotors are pretty sweet but i would like the drilled look with the same par of quality.

I purchased some drilled and slotted rotors from R1Concepts.com over two years ago. Love the rotors and will purchase again. No squeeking, no warping. I have changed the pads twice and basically have no wear on the rotors. I am pretty hard on brakes and love these rotors. . The fronts were about $160 and the rears were about $100 per set. Will purchase again. Check them out.

No cross drilled for the front though only rear. Slotted do look nice that probably what i'll go for unless i find some nice cross drilled for under 750 a pair.
