How can your friend say it works nicely unless he has driven his car in standing water high enough where his air filter would be submerged under water causing the engine to suck up water like a straw which then that AIR Bypass Valve will open because of back pressure to suck in air. A little rain water will not be enough to get anywhere, it will evaporate. I also believe the filter has a coating on it to ad some protection or something about it's design. Can't remember exactly but I've been down this road already with the research on this because it was also a concern I had when installing the intake.

Bro, I live in Japan and have been through 2 rainy seasons. The only way water will get sucked up into the engine is if the whole filter is submerged under water.
