Diffrence between pre and post 2000 year model 430
What is if their is, any diffrence between the 1998 and 99 clk and the 2000 to 2002. On the evosport website the lorinso bodykit has two diffrent models one for the 99's and the other for the 2000, is their a diffrence in the chassis and what can be done if i were to buy a 99 to make it look like a 2000??

There's quite a few differences between 2000 and pre 2000 models. Off the top of my head here are a few:
1. In 2000, 430's got black window surround trim instead of chrome.
2. Sidemarkers on fenders were replaced by blinking side mirror housings.
3. 430's got black wood interior.
4. Tiptronic Style transmission.
5. 320's got body color moulding and ground effects. (98's and I think 99 320's were gray)
6. 2000 got a much better driver control system including steering wheel controls for the radio, and a multifunction display in the gauge cluster.
The gauges in the cluster are also different (nicer design and gray instead of black)
7. Teleaid
8. 2001 added one touch sunroof, windows that would drop down and seal themselves when you would open/close the door, and a MPH digital readout in the dash.
I'm sure there are more differences, but I just woke up and these are the ones that are coming to my head. If you just want to make the outside look like a newer model, you have to do the blinking side mirrors, shave out the hole for the fender sidemarkers, make the window surround black (if it's a 430), and if you have a 320, painting your ground effects and getting rid of the ugly stock wheels. Your interior, however will look like a pre 00 interior as it's probably not at all cost effective to change all that stuff to 2000 spec. If I've missed anything guys, let me know!

a more costly alteration would also be to replace your steering wheel. It should intergrated controls on both sides. Also, your onboard comand system would have to be replaced including the instrument cluster.

i'm not sure if you wanted to know about 2003 CLKs, but the '03 CLK430 Cab reverted back to regular Burl Walnut trim instead of the former Black Birds Eye Maple trim.
