Thumbs down Filled up CLK with wrong gasoline....

Basically I dumb trucked it and filled up my car with 87 Octane fuel. I know the manual doesn't recommend filling up with anything other than Premium 91 Octane. How will this affect my car's engine? If at all. Should I find a way to siphon it out? Thanks in advance.

I dont think you should have any sort of prob...i would wait till you get to 1/2 tank & fill up with the highest octane ava. you should be fine...i know a lot of people with benz that just use the middle grade, no prob ever....

just fon't let it go too low. I did the same thing and my fuel sensor malfunctioned. It read that I had more than a 1/4 tank left but it was totally empty

It's not a real problem if you take it easy on her (so she doesn't ping) and get the good stuff in at half a tank.

i think the general consensus here is to just take it easy for the next, oh, 100 miles or so, when about half the tank is gone, then fill it back up with premium octane.

just go to a auto parts store like Kragen or Pep Boys and get a $4 Octane boost can and less worries.
