Problem with Cruise control!

I have started to encounter a problem with my cruise control. When i first put my wheels back on, they were a little shaky, so when i set cruise it would start to come on then shut off right away. but then sometimes it would stay on for a few miles then randomly shut off. I thought this might be because my wheels were a little shaky. but low and behold i didnt have hubcentric spacers in the rear and my tires were bouncin around like crazy! So now that the spacers are off it smooth as butter again. but the cruise still doesnt work! You can feel it start to come on, or try to. but it wont stay on! i read that it could be difference in tire read outs on the abs module. but it was working fine even with the wrong spacers. now it wont stay on at all... any ideas? I hope its nothing serious. and sorry for rambling on. but any help is good help. haha thanks guys!!! i just want to be able to cruise!

Same tire diameter front to rear? Make sure your brake light switch is working too.

I replaced the brake switch probly almost 2 years ago because my bas asr light kept coming on. and yes same tire size. fronts are 225/40/18 and rears are 245/40/18. and i was driving yesterday and the cruise was working fine now. very weird. hopefully its nothin serious. thanks for your input!
