Is there an Ultimate CLK?
........Is there a CLK out there with every possible option imaginable to man (and woman) yet done tastefully? I can think of a few options:
wood and leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals, custom carpet, Comand with TV, upgraded suspension, upgraded wheels and tires, illuminated door sills, chrome shift gate, frame and knob, etc.
.........Can anyone think of a few more options?
Ted

I'd like to see a CLK with a retractable hardtop, while still retaining the 2+2 configuration & at the same time not deminishing the trunk down to nothing.
Oh, and I'm referring to the W208 body

My car won't have much to offer for audiophiles. I'm getting rid of the rear speakers and possibly the entire stereo. It's partially for weight savings but really because I don't see the need for a stereo in a 700 hp car that has an engine that roars its own beautiful tunes. I might add back a simple nav unit for obvioius reasons, however, not that I have anything against it, but my car definitely won't have electronics like this:

Sleestack is...
...THE MODFATHER!
"On the day of my engine's finally fitment, I can deny no man's request." - Modfather
"The 430 engine? It sleeps with the fishes."
And so the saga continues.

I wonder what that means? Aside from the comparison of a car to a bike....

..................I like Sleestacks car, but when I started the thread what I had in mind was a CLK that has the most number of options vis power, body kit, audio, video, suspension etc. But has to be tastefully put together.
i think ted baldwins clk is definitely up there.
................Thanks for mentioning my car. I am almost done with my car. I will be posting pics of everything in about one month.

Now Ted... are you saying my car isn't tastefully put together? Actually, it's not even put together yet so that question is moot. As for mods, short of audi/video, my car will be completely modified including bodykits (yes plural), brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, chassis, interior, etc. I just don't think a crazy audi/video system belongs in a car such as the one that Evosport is building for me. All I actually care about is the performance. I can't even vote for my car because it's not done, so for now, my vote goes to Mach 430 and Timster.
Edit: I reread your last post Ted. I think I got a bit confused by the vis (sic). So, you are asking about a CLK with all available factory options?

.............yep. I saw pics of your car before you took it apart. Like it. You are right, the post was more about a CLK that has as close to ALL the available options out there and how it the owner put it together.

My "fantasy" CLK?
How 'bout a W208 CLK with the V12 twin-turbo from the Europe-only CL65. Custom 4-matic, suspension, brakes, a 6-speed and quad exhaust.
With all that power, the 4-matic and 6-speed....perhaps a sub-4 second zero to sixty would be possible.
Can I get a price quote on that package?

AWD would be awesome. I actually considered the V12 route (much like Renntech's CLK GTX), however, I think it would add too much weight to an already front-heavy car. I believe we can get comparable numbers using the 6.2 liter V8 with a SC minus some of the raw torque of the V12. Sub 4 0-60 would be nice, however, a sub 11 1/4 mile would be even better.

Fantasy vs. Reality
Sleestack, My fantasy = Your reality
Guess I'll have to make due with what I got for now

The CLK design doesn't give allot of room for wider rims and over size tires?
Just wondering,
