There was a Puff of black smoke when i came back from a 20 mile drive that came out of the exhaust and the car felt like it was going to turn of but it did not what could cause this, the black smoke then vanished

i know something like this happened to my friend on his trans am and it ended up being a clogged cat..this might help but im not really sure

Check for dirty maf or any vacuum leaks.it happened to me when my vacuum line was let n to much get sucked through the tb.
