Xenon replacement light

Hello,

I am new to this forum, but have come to the sight to read up on the information posted. I would like to say that I have found that there has been quite a bit of useful information that has passed through here. So thanks!!!

I have a question with concerns to replacing a xenon bulb for a 1999 Clk. Does anyone know where I might find a fair price for one and have it shipped in a timely manner?

Thanks.

E320,

Thanks for your reply. I am sorry that it took me so long to reply. I am here in San Antonio and it was Fiesta week. What that means is a great party week, kind of like Mardi Gras!!!

I already purchased one at a local European auto parts place for $75.00. I do appreciate the offer. When I need a replacement for the other side I will check back with you. Thanks again E!!!

Sorry for the late reply...I actually purchased both the 6000k & 8000k, however at the moment I'm using the 8000k. I really didn't notice a significant difference in performance between the two, but according the tech at SUV Lights.com the D2S produces more lumens over the D2R.

Also, a very minor modification to fit the D2S on my E430s' D2R housing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the CLK320 OEM xenon houses a D2R bulb?

Hey Sup,

Honestly, I don't know if I could offer much advice on the replacement model. I believe it was the 6k. It was an OEM replacement part that a local shop just so happen to have in stock.

I know some of the folks on this board might be able to offer you better advice on the illumination aspects.

I can offer you advice on how to actually replace it.

1) Remove the cap
2) Squeeze the clips that hold the bulb into place.
3) There is a rubber boot with a connector that attaches to the actual bulb.
4) If you gently turn it counter clock wise it will release from the bulb.
5) You can then pull the bulb out.
6) Place the new bulb in the slot
7) Place the clip back into place
8) Put the boot on and gently turn clockwise.
9) Replace the cap.

I hope this helps Sup!!!

thank you , Richard023 & cowboys

I think i will order the xenon bulbs at SUV site later , coz I m still looking for it at local parts shop , but seems that it is not available still here ....

well , I will try to find out the 8000K if possible , I believe to take this one on my car would be very nice , the stock xenon bulb is just not bright enough

Xenon lights

All you guys talking in here about Xenon's, and I have a quick question,
I bought my Xenon KIT from Classifields, I received 2 Bulbs, 2 some sqare boxes, I beleive controllers, and 2 housing OEM. Now I have this guy saying that if I install this KIT on OEM housing, I'm going to melt the Housing, because it has to be glass no plastic, any idea what should I do? I cant find glass housing anywhere for CLK w208
