i need to tap into one, but the amp i'm going to use can only take 30watts coming from the speaker end. i want to make sure i'm not putting too much signal power to my amp from the stock speakers on the RCA (line-out) conversion.

I am not a car stereo expert but:
When you connect your amp will you leave your original speakers in place?
Do you know what the input impedance of the amp is?
If the input impeadnce is greater than 5 ohms then I doubt that you could drive more than 30 watts into the amp. (I suspect that it would be much higher)

thanks byip...was gonna do that...just wanted to see if anyone knew to save me the trouble. Martin...i'm not much of a stereo person either, but the amp i'm going to use has speaker level inputs, but i THINK (not positive) that the maximum is 30watts. if they exceed that much i will need to get a lineout converter.
