Starting engine with touch start

Starting engine with touch start
Hi guys,
I was reviewing my manual and read something about "Touch Start" something like turning electric smart key clockwise to the stop and release immediately, then the touch start takes over automatically starting the engine without the need for the driver to hold the key until the engine fires.
Does anyone know anything about this or exactly how it works?

It's easy. Flicking the key engages the starter. Once the flywheel starts to turn faster than the starter (engine has started), the starter motor disengages. If the engine doesn't start in a certain time frame, the starter is disengaged.

Sorry, but I am a bit confused here. Is there anything special about the "touch start".
One thing that I know, I dont have to hold my key for the engine to start.
Just turn the key to the right and release it and the engine starts.
Is that what you guys are talking about?
THanks,
Solihin

touch start is probably the 'technical name' MB gave it... its like saying 'double wish-bone suspension' or 'rack & pinion steering.
Its not 'Keyless Go' (start the car without the key in the starter) if that is what you are thinking.
