CLK 55 Engine
I recently had a ring go out in my '02 Clk and now I have an engine sitting in my garage. Does anyone know of a place that buys used engines? The Engine is complete less accessories.

Do a compression test to verify the bad cylinder
its not going to be worth much, due to the amount of money this engine needs to revive again.

I don't want anything outrageous for the engine. It has 101,xxx miles on it, but if its going to get freshened up anyways i figured someone on here might be able to get some use out of it. I know what proper working engines sell for since I just had to buy one and the price i have in mind isn't anywhere close to what I just spent. I may be off in my estimated value, so what is a good price to ask?

Also the engine was running when I drove it into the Shop. It still had compression, when I dropped it off. The shop called me and said it was a piston, ring land? maybe? Not really clear. The reason it isn't clear is because I didn't have the shop tear down the engine and rebuild, I just went with a new engine. I thought the new engine route would be better in terms of time, because I am also trying to sell the car as well. So thats the long and short of it. ALL offers will be considered, best regards

I think you meant $1200 not $12000. Those 500 engines are dirt cheap now a days i see them all around from $500 to $1100 with the range of 70k to 120k miles.
