Coilover Kit?

Is there any reputable manufacturer that is developing or going to develop a coilover kit for the CLK?

Is there a particular reason it has not been done already?

Any insight would be appreciated.

So far there aren't any. We have been trying to convince H&R to make a kit for a while, but I have yet to hear whether they will. We will be making a custom coilover kit for Sleestack in a couple months.

Do you think the custom product you are developing might be marketed if it perfoms well on Slee's car?

I'd certainly look into buyig if the price is not too bad.

Everything we are making for Sleestack's car will be available to the public, however pricing will not be available for the majority of custom parts until the car is finished.

Thanks,
Ben

The coilovers that will be made for my car will be height adjustable similar to the H&R coilovers on my Audi but will not be adjustable for dampening. The Kleemann shocks (which are currently on my car) don't adjust for height, however, the dampening rate adjusts mechanically on the fly based on the driving conditions. The Kleemann shocks are awesome in that they are quite comfortable in normal driving conditions and really stiffen up during cornering. They are a great solution for someone who wants the best of both worlds. The coilovers being made for my car are not being built for comfort and will be strictly performance oriented (and probably too stiff for most MB owners).

Mach... feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd have to agree with Sleestack the Kleemann system is very cool!
I took a cloverleaf on ramp from one freeway to the other. I took it pretty fast but gently the entrance was a long straight way. I then dove into the curve just to see what the car would do. It stayed flat all the way thru the corner. I was very impressed with how the car stayed in control and there was very little body roll.

Timster: Do the shocks (dampening) really affect the performance (especially body roll)? How does the Kleeman compares to the regular Koni sport shock? Much better?

Thanks Tim,

Solihin; the kleeman suspension is soft and becomes hard as you corner and drive hard. The koni's are all the way either soft, firm or hard (for race). There is not better, it's up to what do you want and how much are you willing to spend.

Thanks theine, I have the same parts as you have too, H&R springs, Koni shocks + Eibach sway bars.
I am hoping that the body roll would be minimal.

How is yours?

What do you mean with "I am hoping". Haven't you installed them yet?

I will tell you how it feels.
As far as the fog light bulbs, I haven't bought them maybe in a couple of weeks.

It's not like a standard one, but sturdy. I like my cars to be firm and in control. Very minimal body roll.
