Car Insurance Prices

I was just wondering, here in Japan I pay $300 for 1 year for car insurance on my CLK320. What are you paying?

Hey man, never move to California. Ever. Sunshine, women, and overpriced insurance. I have a spotless driving record. No tickets, no accidents. I literally live 10 minutes from the Ventura county border. Way out in the suburbs (people in LA county pay a premium for breathing). And I have a homeowners policy. In fact, I've had a homeowners policy and car policies with the same company for over TWENTY YEARS. Multiple car discount. The wife has no tickets or accidents either. Yeah, I pay $428 . . . . . . . . . every six months.

The only thing more obscene is what I pay in property taxes.

$500 / year, in the Boston area, for full coverage with a tier 1 company (e.g. highest rated by JD Powers, Consumer Reports etc.).

Includes multiple discounts (e.g. safe driving record, home/auto policies, annual mileage) and I have a $1,000 deductible.

I should check out the TV commercials (e.g. GEICO, Progressive) that claim they could save me up to $500 / year, though

Here in the Uk taxes are high too!

We get discounts for multiple cars and people with the same company, but only the named driver can use it.

Age is a consideration too. Even if your over 30 you still pay alot but half as much as a 21yr old. Mercs aren't cheap to insure because of the parts prices so me and the misses pay £520 a year fully comp (even though my car's 11yrs old!).
