Magic Accelerator
When driving in D and at around 20-30mph, my car will automagically rev up and back down from 1200 to 1000rpm over and over again, despite pressure on accelerator remaining the same. Why is this?

I have yet to take it anywhere for diagnosis, I was hoping it'd be a little simpler.
The car is misfiring upon quick release of the accelerator, but I had put that down to a buggered fuel filter due to the wife letting it run on empty. A lot.

Find your local indi who has a Star - saves a lot of guesswork and it not worth throwing parts at it if its something simple - the Star will find most problems in seconds - problem solved and your sound a bit dangerous
